Dr. Nicole Basa
Dr. Nicole Basa is a board-certified general surgeon by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Basa received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and attended medical school at Rush Medical College in Chicago. Dr. Basa also enjoys teaching and has earned many awards for outstanding teaching from her students at USC and UCLA. She was the first surgeon to perform a fully robotic gastric bypass in Central Texas, and the second surgeon to do this in the entire state of Texas.

Dr. Alan Abando is a skilled and compassionate surgeon, board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Abando graduated cum laude from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, and earned his medical degree with alpha omega alpha honors from Rush Medical College in Chicago. He completed his general surgery residency at Huntington Memorial Hospital.
